- the door designs received general commendations, but none placed.
- the design competition for the rock venue was a finalist, but because of our inability to get to Boston in the middle of our winter term, my team didn't place...
- and last but not least, the Iraqi memorial is still in the works...but it is just one of those designs that God apparently never intended to exeed the conceptual design stage.
I have just finished my five week design for an urban library for west philadelphia, and my critique was fantastic! the critics loved my design and they really were able to help me understand the small details that I couldn't quite fix. I have also just entered my exam week, and have to study like a madman to pass my classes.
and after that....*drumroll please*....SPRING BREAK!
and after spending many long, crazy, non-sober days surfing and skiing (yes, both) on the west coast, I have to return to philadelphia to start spring term and to take part in the most amazing desing charrette that I have ever had the chance to take part in (a little more on that later).
wish me luck on my exams...i'll need it.

I miss our deviousness of two years ago. Whatever became of our projects? Wherefore did they cease to become realities? Whence came this artistic ADD? Or, more accurately, the ADD that thrives in our conversations as always?
Not that I'm complaining.
Farewell, mon ami! Until we meet again--
Yours,

Ive done only a few but I know that they can be a lot of fun and challenging at the same time..
Im right now doing a post-disaster housing competition. You learn alot from something so unfamiliar...
and i certainly agree that doing things unfamiliar to you make for the best learning experiences because when you're outside of your comfort zone...you really open your eyes to new possibilities!
What is the design charrette on?
Im doing one tomorrow on a new museum proposed for these old industrial silos down by the waterfront. Apparently Jorgen Mayer is going to be there as well...
...but the topic of the charrette itself is a surprise ...so that no team can get ahead early. I'm really hoping that it is something to do with an international design problem, or architecture for humanity...but it will most likely be something about west philadelphia.
PS. Jurgen Mayer is so cool! Good luck on the charrette... when you're finished...you should post your design on devart! I'd really like to see some other architectural pieces on the site. good luck!
I dont really have that much from the design...I only produced a section which doesnt show all that much. But i recently finished another project in school, so i might post that up soon.
good luck on yours...and tell me about it after!
ps. jurgen mayer's proposal was crazy!
